Summer Mehta Palo Alto, CA Suicide: Palo Alto High School Student Summer Mehta Identified as Victim in Tragic Caltrain Incident – Authorities have identified Summer Devi Mehta, a 16-year-old Palo Alto High School student, as the victim who died in a tragic incident involving a Caltrain on Tuesday. Officials said the death is being investigated as an apparent suicide.
Michael Ross was found deceased on the city’s west side after police discovered his body inside the trunk of an abandoned vehicle. The grim discovery marked the beginning of an extensive investigation that has since resulted in multiple criminal charges and arrests.
On Tuesday, police confirmed that Shyla Keewatin, 33, has been charged with first-degree murder and committing an indignity to a body in connection with Ross’s death. Keewatin is scheduled to make her first appearance in Regina Provincial Court on Wednesday.
Investigators allege that she was directly responsible for Ross’s killing, though police have not released further details about the circumstances leading up to his death. Two other individuals were previously charged as the investigation unfolded.
Steven Lee Myslichuk, 37, was arrested on January 26 and appeared in court two days later, on January 28. According to court documents, Myslichuk is charged with knowingly assisting a person who had committed the murder of Michael Ross to escape.
